Streamlining Patient Services for American Mission Hospital with a Mobile Solution

Introduction

American Mission Hospital, one of the oldest and most renowned hospitals in Bahrain, faced challenges in managing patient appointment bookings and report collection. Urbansoft developed a mobile application integrated with the hospital’s Health Information System (HIS), allowing patients to conveniently book appointments and access their medical reports.

The Challenge

The hospital staff had to manually check the HIS for available doctor schedules when booking appointments, leading to inefficiencies. Additionally, patients had to physically visit the hospital to collect lab or radiology reports, making the process time-consuming and inconvenient.

The Solution

Urbansoft developed APIs from the HIS and designed a mobile application that enables patients to:

  • Book appointments based on doctor availability across various hospital branches.
  • Manage their bookings, including rescheduling or canceling appointments.
  • View and download lab and radiology reports directly from the app, using date filters to easily access relevant records.

Results

  • Appointment Convenience: Patients can now book and manage appointments seamlessly without hospital visits.
  • Report Access: Lab and radiology reports are available for viewing and download in the app, reducing the need for in-person collection.
